Healthcare on a silicon
Healthcare on a Silicon
Congrats to Mekonos for its recent $4.6M raise.
With IP from Stanford, Mekonos is developing a System-On-a-Chip ( SoC ) platform that will enable molecular delivery in gene editing and synthetic biology. Blending innovations from MEMS (micro-electromechanical system), Microfluidics, and Surface Chemistry, Mekonos' technology is enabling a new level of precision and scalability for cell/gene therapy delivery.
With current delivery technologies' ( viral vector, electroporation ) limitations, Mekonos' silicon cannot come at a better time when the costs for drug development are rampant while manufacturing scales are limited.
Aligned with Good AI’s mission of enabling global access to healthcare, Mekonos will play a key role in bringing transformative therapies to the masses.
Congratulations to the team again!
BIOHACKERS on Netflix
By popular demand, our Netflix review is back!
This time, it is BIOHACKERS
If "glow-in-the-dark mice, gene-modded weed, payment microchips in your hand, engineering mushrooms with new flavors, doing CRISPR together in a camper van lab in the woods, engineering a virus-carrying mosquito " sounds intriguing to you, you want to check out the series.
BIOHACKERS is a gripping science thriller. The six-part series by director Christian Ditter ("How to be Single", "Love, Rosie", "Girlboss") deals with biological interventions, genetic modifications, and the many possibilities/risks in the field of engineering biology.
Part revenge plot, part young adult love drama, part dismantling a large-scale conspiracy, the series did a nice job in presenting scientific realities with lots of visually appealing synthetic biology experiments and bioluminescent matter of diverse natures.
And for those who can't wait for more, Season 2 is coming to Netflix
